Saija Suominen

I am a legal language specialist on the Castrén & Snellman translation team. I translate legal documents and communications texts between Finnish, English and Swedish. I enjoy assignments where I get to combine my linguistic and legal skills, and I specialise in complex legal opinions, memoranda and trial documentation.

I am experienced in financing and insurance texts, which I translated prior to joining Castrén & Snellman. I also participate in legal design projects in which legal content and processes are designed to suit the end users’ needs, increasing the accessibility of complex documents. I am energised by new challenges and take joy in working together with others.

I have a master’s degree in German translation from the University of Turku. Alongside my normal work, I completed a Bachelor of Laws degree from Åbo Akademi University in spring 2023, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Laws at the University of Eastern Finland. I have also studied English, Finnish, Swedish and French as well as economic and political sciences.
