Castrén & Snellman’s Trademark Team Recognised as One of Finland’s Top Practices in the 2019 Edition of WTR 1000

Castrén & Snellman has once again been ranked as one of the leading law firms in Finland in the 2019 edition of World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals. In the 2019 survey, our firm was ranked in the Silver Category in both enforcement and litigation as well as in prosecution and strategy sectors.

According to the publication, Sakari Salonen and Nina Mikander ‘have quickly developed the IP division into one of the leading practices in Finland’. Our clients add that they are backed by a ‘solid team of hardworking and efficient professionals who are always available and give really business-oriented and extremely practical advice’.

On the private practice side, WTR 1000 ranked only eight individuals in the gold tier and as leading practitioners in anti-counterfeiting. Our firm’s partner, head of IP Sakari Salonen, was again ranked in both of these individual top categories. Clients describe Sakari as a ‘hard hitting litigator’, who ‘examines cases from all angles and his advice is always clear, thoughtful and prompt’.

Head of IP Prosecution Team, Nina Mikander, made her debut in the WTR1000 individual rankings. According to the publication, ‘global portfolio management is meat and drink for Mikander’, and the ‘prosecution department creates watertight strategies to bring coherency and commercial impetus to portfolios’.
