We advised investment group Mutares AG when its portfolio company Donges Group acquired Ruukki Building Systems Oy and its subsidiaries from Rautaruukki Corporation, a subsidiary of SSAB Group. Closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of relevant competition authorities.
Ruukki Building Systems is specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of building frame, envelope and bridge structures out of steel. The company offers heavy steel structures and bridges as well as other types of steel and concrete frame structures to its customers. Ruukki Building Systems operates four production sites in Finland, Poland and Lithuania and it employs some 500 people.
Mutares AG shares are listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Donges Group has been part of the Mutares Group since November 2017. For Donges Group, the acquisition of Ruukki Building Systems allows to complement its existing setup by additional engineering and production know-how in Eastern Europe and to realize synergies within the Group.
