Partner Eija Warma-Lehtinen has been appointed as a deputy member of the Expert Board of the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman for a term starting on 1 October 2020 and ending on 30 September 2023. This is the first time the Expert Board, which is provided for in the Data Protection Act, has been appointed.

The Expert Board is tasked with issuing statements on significant questions related to the application of personal data processing legislation at the request of the Data Protection Ombudsman. The Expert Board does not have formal decision-making powers.
‘I am very happy about this appointment. As a deputy member, I can contribute to how data protection legislation is put into practice’, Eija said.
The government appointed the Expert Board on 24 September 2020.

We assisted Smarter Contracts Ltd in the process where the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom confirmed it to be an EU-recognised data intermediation service.
