Counsel, Member of the Finnish Bar
Before joining Castrén & Snellman I worked in the public sector in several legal duties for almost 10 years. During this time, I worked in ministries and courts and gained valuable experience from a wide range of public sector legislation. My main area of expertise at Castrén & Snellman is public procurement in which I specialised at the Market Court. In addition to public procurement, I also handle issues related to state aid, competitive neutrality and a wide range of issues related to public sector legislation.
Due to my background I consider issues both from the perspective of a former civil servant as well as my current position. This is relevant for many clients' projects and I am able to point out many relevant issues not only about legislation but also about official functions in practice. In relation to public sector projects it is also important to recognise different kinds of risks. Public procurement, state aid and issues related to the publicity of documents can all be relevant for even a single project and I am able to help clients in all of these issues comprehensively and in a way that minimises risks.
I have also participated in the drafting of public procurement legislation by working as a part-time secretary for a committee considering the reform of legal remedies in the public procurement sector during 2008–2010.
In my current position I most enjoy working with clients and their extremely interesting projects. The projects that I work with are so diverse that the spark in my work stays continually strong. It is wonderful to work in a firm which utilises the full range of my skills, allowing our clients to benefit fully from my background and experience.
I am currently on maternity leave.
