Castrén & Snellman’s Holiday Donation Supports Humanitarian Work in Ukraine

The whole Europe was shaken up and shocked by Russia’s invasion to Ukraine in February. Justice, peace, safety, stability and human rights lie right at the heart of the principle of the rule of law, which we as advocates have undertaken to defend. These are undisputed values that concern all of us, and the events in Ukraine contradict with all of them.

This year, we decided to help where help is most needed.  We will make our traditional holiday donation to Ukraine through our pro bono partner, the Finnish Red Cross. With the help of FRC, our support will help the different groups of people in Ukraine – children, adults, and old people alike.

Year-Round Work with Pro Bono Partners

We are committed to the principles of the UN Global Compact, such as the protection of human rights. Our pro bono work supports refugees and immigrants, at-risk children, youths, women, sexual minorities, disabled persons and other minorities that suffer from discrimination.

These principles have guided our choice of pro bono partners: the Finnish Refugee Advice Centre, the Uusimaa District of the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare, and the Red Cross Youth Shelter
