Castrén & Snellman Most Attractive Law Firm Employer for the Fifth Year Running

According to the 2019 edition of the annual Universum Professionals survey, Castrén & Snellman has held its position as Finland’s most attractive law firm employer for the fifth year in a row. We were the only law firm in the top ten, with Finnish and EU public sector employers taking the top spots. The most popular employers among this year’s respondents were the Ministry of Justice, the courts, the EU, the police and the Foreign Ministry.

According to the results of the survey, legal professionals are particularly looking for a competitive base salary and a wide variety in working duties. This year’s survey also showed a clear desire for security, which could be a result of the current economic environment. The meaningfulness of work and a flexible work-life balance remain priorities. The ideal employer among legal professionals is international, respected and versatile.

In addition to the legal services field, the Universum Professionals 2019 survey looked for the most attractive employers and working life preferences of employees in the commercial, technical and IT fields. Nearly 6,200 university-educated professionals participated in the survey, with 75% of respondents being between the ages of 26 and 40. The survey was carried out in March–August 2019, and 186 legal professional participated.
