Castrén & Snellman Continues as Legal Advisor to the Finnish Olympic Committee
Castrén & Snellman continues its cooperation with the Finnish Olympic Committee, which began in 2013, for the next four years. As the Finnish Olympic Committee’s legal advisor, we help create the conditions to enable the Committee to do its best both in the sports arena and behind the scenes. During the next Olympiad, the 2018 Winter Olympics will be held in South Korea, and Japan will host the Summer Olympics of 2020.
‘Athletes can focus on training and on successfully achieving their goals, while we will take care of the legal intricacies of sports agreements and other contracts’, Castrén & Snellman's partner Pia Ek promises.
Our cooperation with the Olympic Committee has included, among other things, advice on partnership agreements and the Finland House project.
‘The Finland House project is a showcase for Finnish expertise. The House will be open in host cities during the Olympics. In Rio, over 50 countries built their own Hospitality House at the Olympic venue, displaying their own country and its businesses. The next three Olympic Games will be held in Asia, which is a significant market area for many Finnish companies. It is very important that the legal issues of the project are handled by top notch experts and that we can focus on our main task’, states Samuli Vasala, CEO of the Finnish Olympic Committee’s Business Unit.
Everyone at Castrén & Snellman wishes Finland’s athletes the best of luck!
