Janne Lauha and Erno Kaskinen Contribute to Finnish IPO Handbook
C&S Partner Janne Lauha Associate Erno Kaskinen have contributed to the new IPO handbook published by the Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion. The handbook covers a wide variety of subjects, from the first steps towards an IPO to the duties and obligations of a listed company.
The handbook is primarily intended for the owners, directors and management of companies considering an IPO, but is also a solid reference work for anyone interested in IPOs.
The handbook was written by an extensive group of experts. In addition to our firm, the team included Nasdaq Helsinki, Nordea, EY, the Financial Supervisory Authority, Borenius, Rochier, Hannes Snellman, Evli, the Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion, PwC, Danske Bank, KPMG and Deloitte. This new handbook is a follow-up to the book on IPOs in multilateral trading venues in Finland first published in 2012 and updated in 2014, which our firm also contributed to.
'It has been immensely useful to gather around the same table with representatives of the various stakeholders, the Financial Supervisory Authority and the stock exchange to discuss matters of interpretation without the pressure of a particular case. Everyone involved has made valuable contributions and provided their extensive expertise and experience to this work, which has been undertaken for the sole purpose of promoting the Finnish IPO market. The end product highlights the best Finnish practices', say Janne Lauha.
Castrén & Snellman has played a critical role in the recent reinvigoration of the Finnish IPO landscape, in line with our long-standing, active participation in developing the Finnish market infrastructure. Last year alone, we successfully acted as a legal advisor in a total of 21 Finnish capital markets issues, three of which were IPOs.
