MA, M.Sc. (Tech.) Marja Ollila, a member of Castrén & Snellman’s Translation Service, has successfully passed the Finnish certification examination for authorised translators and has been accredited in the English–Finnish language pair. With this accreditation, Marja Ollila has the right to draft legally valid Finnish translations from English documents.

The Finnish examination system is maintained by the Examination Board for Authorised Translators, which acts in conjunction with the National Board of Education. The examination is arranged once a year and tests the applicants’ language and translations skills as well as other skills required in the profession of an authorised translator. One of the two languages tested is always a domestic language, namely Finnish, Swedish or Sami. The examination is demanding, as only around 20% of applicants pass the test annually.
