Trainee Antti Huotilainen

A View from the TopAntti Huotilainen

Third-year law student Antti Huotilainen has worked at the firm for nearly a year. After taking part in the firm’s four-month junior trainee program, Antti stayed on to supervise the next group of junior trainees. Antti found his way to C&S by chance, through the recommendation of a college buddy. A traineeship in a law firm seemed like a sensible choice to complement his studies. Junior trainees get a good view of the various functions at the firm, as they help both lawyers and support groups.

'My work includes a lot of basic office routines, such as handling the mail, making arrangements for client events, and just generally helping out. Actual legal work can include assisting at general meetings and corresponding with clients and public authorities.'

'Some of my most memorable assignments have been participating in general meetings of listed companies and arranging various events.'

'Castrén & Snellman is one of the big law firms in Finland, and working here is an opportunity to see what it’s like at the top. A lawyer’s work isn’t glamorous like on TV, but hard work.'

Antti has good memories of his trainee period.

'Trainees get a lot of valuable practical experience. Working at a law firm is a career I could easily consider in the future.'
