As an expert organisation, one of the cornerstones of our business is continual development and the easy flow of knowledge and information from one employee to another. This informs how we organise all our operations, such as what areas of expertise our lawyers focus on in their work.

Deepening Expertise

We regularly arrange internal training events on the whole spectrum of business law subjects for our personnel. We also support and encourage our employees in Finland and Russia to seek external training.

Many of our employees seek international experience by going on secondment to law firms in other countries, or go on secondment to a client company to get a deeper understanding that client’s field. We encourage our employees to expand their professional skills with post-graduate studies. An interesting experience in the career of a young lawyer can be a year spent in court training in a district court.

Once you have a few years' experience of business law under your belt, it's time to start taking on client relationship responsibilities or start supervising younger employees. Our senior lawyers get regular training in these skills as well as in others to support them in their role as experienced members of our firm.

Annual Development Discussions

All of our employees have an annual development discussion with their supervisor. The main goal of the discussion is to plan training suitable for the employee’s duties and career stage and to think of other ways in which we can best support his or her development.

The discussion also covers the events of the past year and the goals for the coming one. Each employee receives both free-form feedback and written feedback through a 360° performance evaluation, which collects feedback from the employee’s closest colleagues and supervisor.

Orientation Programme

New employees go through an extensive orientation programme to get them off to a good start. Our orientation program includes basic training on the latest software applications and our internal processes. Each of our employees has a personal tutor who they can turn to with work related questions.
