Sanna Suvanto specialises in real estate and environmental law as well as international construction and projects. She has extensive experience of implementation of large infrastructural and industrial projects, as well as of the permit procedure and environmental impact assessment related thereto. She has substantial sector knowledge especially of the energy sector as well as basic industry and waste management. Ms Suvanto has acted as legal advisor and expert in project management for clients in these fields for over ten years. In addition to permit procedures and appeals, she also has extensive experience of disputes in the field construction, zoning and soil contamination. She has also acted as project manager and negotiator in several international construction development projects.
Sanna Suvanto serves as chairman of AIJA’s Environmental Law Commission and is active in the sector's international activities. She has obtained a post-graduate degree in energy law and finance at the University of Dundee, Scotland, and has authored and co-authored several studies and books in the field of environmental and energy law. She is also a well-recognised lecturer in Finland on topics related to environmental law.
