Eija specialises in employment law and technology law, focusing on data protection, privacy, and e-commerce. Eija has assisted companies with a wide range of privacy matters, including cross-border data transfers and preparation of corporate policies, and has handled several notification procedures with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman. Eija also has substantial experience in employment-related privacy matters, which is a highly regulated area in Finland.
Eija has authored several articles relating to the protection of privacy and she is a popular speaker in privacy-related matters. Prior to joining Castrén & Snellman, Eija worked in the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman of Finland.
Eija has also studied law in the United States at Tulane Law School and the University of Minnesota Law School, where she completed an LL.M. degree.
