Eija Warma specialises in data protection, the processing of personal data and privacy. Eija has handled several cross-border data transfers and outsourcing arrangements, carried out data protection inspections, prepared corporate data protection policies and has also handled several notification procedures with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman. Eija also regularly advises our clients in general issues related to the processing and transfer of personal data, in the implementation of marketing campaigns, in issues related to special data categories, such as the processing of patient data, and in employment-related privacy matters. Eija has also assisted our clients in matters related to consumer protection, marketing, advertising and communications law.
Eija is an active author of articles relating to the protection of privacy and she is a popular speaker in privacy-related matters both in Finland and abroad.
Prior to joining Castrén & Snellman, Eija worked in the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman of Finland. Eija has also studied law in the United States at Tulane Law School and the University of Minnesota Law School, where she completed an LL.M. degree.
