Favourite Student Employer

Over the years, our positive workplace atmosphere has received numerous recognitions from students. The most recent is the best law student employer of 2011 award. Our firm received the award from The Association of Finnish Lawyers based on a survey of student working conditions carried out in the summer of 2011. We received an honourable mention in the same survey in 2009. The criteria included whether students felt equal to other employees, the pay and terms of employment, the workplace atmosphere, the meaningfulness of the work as well as flexibility at different stages of study.

We were also number one in the 2011 Universum Student Survey, which lists Finland’s best employers according to students. This was the third year in a row that we were Finland’s law students’ favourite law firm. We placed third overall, right behind the Ministry of Justice and the courts.

In 2010, Castrén & Snellman was the first legal services firm picked as Finland’s best summer employer. The winner was chosen by a jury of student members of trade union confederation Akava. Minister of Labour Anni Sinnemäki chaired the jury. We were particularly praised for our flexible master’s thesis programme, which summer employees can apply to. The jury also noted that we offer students a very versatile and thorough orientation programme as well as good working conditions.
