Maritime and Transport

Our maritime and transport lawyers regularly assist clients in all kinds of matters relating to the shipping and logistics industry, ranging from traditional maritime and transport law, including wet (such as collision and casualties) and dry (such as c/p and b/l disputes) maritime law, arrests, boycotts and CMR, to pure commercial disputes. The team is recognised for its skills in litigation and arbitration.

By combining the team’s leading expertise in the fields of maritime, transport, and insurance law and dispute resolution with the firm’s in-depth knowledge in all areas of business law, we are able to give a complete legal service, irrespective of the area of law, to clients providing or acquiring services related to the shipping and logistics industry.

Insurance

Our recognised insurance team assists clients on a wide range of matters relating to insurance, which can be divided into consultancy and dispute resolution services. Consultancy services include policy drafting, coverage counsel work, and advice to foreign insurers on the contents of Finnish insurance law. A large part of the team’s work consists of dispute resolution, including disputes between insurers, brokers, and policyholders as well as acting for insurers together with policyholders in claims defence.

Our insurance team’s expertise covers all types of non-life insurance, mainly liability (general, product, PI, D&O, and workers’ compensation), property, business interruption, maritime and transport, and life insurance.
