Sakari Lukinmaa Appointed Managing Partner of Castrén & Snellman

Sakari Lukinmaa will take over as Castrén & Snellman’s new managing partner. Pauliina Tenhunen, who has led the firm for the past six years, will take over as chairperson of the board of directors.

‘This is an excellent time for this change, as our firm has grown and developed in leaps and bounds over the past few years. Our mission to help our clients succeed in a rapidly changing world will continue to inspire us moving forward under Sakari’s energetic leadership’, Tenhunen says.

Sakari has been a partner at C&S since 2011. He is well known as a leading advisor in finance. Sakari will continue to work with our clients in international and domestic finance transactions in his new role.

‘Our clients appreciate Sakari’s determined and constructive style of leading negotiations. His clients and colleagues alike consider him to be a highly skilled and approachable lawyer with a great sense of humour. These characteristics will serve him well as managing partner’, Pauliina continues.

Sakari has already been playing a key role in the management of the firm for some time. He has been a member of the board since 2014 and a member of the management group since 2016.

‘I’m thrilled to take the helm at C&S in an environment that is changing faster than at any time in our 130-year history. One of the keystones of our strategy is to be a forerunner of demanding legal services. This is something we will continue to focus on. We are committed to moving forward boldly, as a team and in close cooperation with our clients’, Sakari says.

Merja Kivelä, who has served as the chairperson of Castrén & Snellman’s board for the past eight years, will continue her work as a trusted advisor to clients primarily in capital markets assignments and transactions. ‘I’m looking forward to being able to focus my full attention on client work again. Pauliina and Sakari will do an outstanding job of continuing the development of our firm’, Merja says.
