Sending Workers Overseas – Occupational Health And Safety Perspective

Counsel, Employment Henna Kinnunen has published an article about the employer’s occupational health and safety obligations in situations where the employer sends its employees working overseas. The objective of the article is to raise awareness of the fact that, although the employer’s possibilities to ensure its employees’ health and safety in their work overseas are limited, the employer’s occupational health and safety obligations deriving from Finnish legislation cannot be ignored even in international working situations. The employer’s obligations apply regardless of whether the employee is working overseas on a short business trip or on a longer assignment.

The article has been published in cooperation with International SOS Foundation. It was first published on the International SOS Foundation’s webpage in summer 2015. Read the whole article here.
