Solving Problems
Associate Anders Forss first started working for C&S as a senior trainee in 2004. During his trainee period, Anders became widely acquainted with the day-to-day work of a large law firm and with the firm’s different expertise groups. His hands-on experiences as a trainee made dispute resolution feel the most like his own thing.
'Problem solving suits me well. The facts and legal questions are different in every case. You can come across arbitration proceedings relating to a merger or freedom-of-speech-related criminal cases', Anders describes.
'A lot of people shake their heads at the amount of work lawyers do, but for me the work is like a puzzle, and I really enjoy it.'
Anders recently completed a year-long court training period at the Espoo District Court. During the period he acted as a judge in criminal and civil hearings.
'Court training was an enlightening experience! It was great to experience the everyday routine of a district court, which is different from that of a law firm. From a professional point of view, it was also educational to look at criminal and civil cases from the perspective of the court.'
Returning to the firm after a year away was a welcome change.
'I can better appreciate C&S’s atmosphere, my colleagues, and team work. There is a certain freedom here that comes with being in the role of an expert.'
Anders expects that the coming years will bring new interesting cases and continual professional development supported by experienced colleagues.
